The Bundesliga 1st round ended on Sunday with a hard fought draw between hannover and Schalke. Both teams looked engaged, with the 96ers perhaps having the edge in the early going. The Blues finally got going on a counter-attack, with Huntelaar cutting across the top of the box and rocketing in a perfect left footed shot into the corner. Schalke began to assert themselves, and were soon in front as Holtby headed in from a crowd. Hannover then made a few subs, and it paid off with a late goal by Nikci, after a nice run by Schlaudraff.
Overall, a deserved draw and a decent way to end the opening day.
