Several “snow-outs” thsi weekend, but most of the top clubs got wins. Big loser was actually Heidenheim, which after hard work getting back into contention, dropped the points in Chemnitz. FCH looked to escape with a split, scoring very late, but then an injury time goal gave CFC the win.
Unterhaching put in strong effort, but Osnabrück was clearly better, and thus really didn’t have a difficult time bringing home the bacon. A similar stpry as Preußen Münster defeated Halle, the home side making chances count and gliding to a routine win. It was hard to tell who was the leader and who was the bottom feeder, but Karlsruhe did enough to stay on top against Dortmund’s B. They grabbed the lead right at the start and then coasted, now unbeaten in 16 matches. BVB actually looked fairly decent, but weren’t really strong enough to threaten KSC, who were obviously doing the minimal necessary and saving the breath for the pub later…
On Sunday, Elton da Costa grabbed the only goal as Darmstadt got an absolutely crucial win against the draw kings from Wehen. First win in ages for the 98ers, and it gives them hope for an escape from relegation. Both teams fought hard, but Darmstadt created better chances and probably deserves the 3 points.
Weekend attendance was 33,523 (avg 5,587), with 4 matches re-scheduled due to unplayable pitch.
