Wuppertal is still struggling from bankruptcy, and the new squad hasn’t really grown together yet. At least they don’t totally suck, having moved up the table into semi-respectable status. (To be fully respectable, they would have to have about 33 points and be in 1st). Instead, they trail SV Hönnepel-Niedermörmter, whose only claim to fame is it’s perhaps the longest name in German football. Oh yes, and they have a couple failed nuclear reactors or something like that. (WSV lost the match 0-1 away, which they should have won, but wasted their chances like wussies). Aside from WSV, the only known club is Schwarz-Weiss Essen, who have groveled in obscurity for decades after their shining moment in 1959, when they beat Borussia Neunkirchen (another club that’s emblem should be on the side of a milk carton for having “disappeared”) for the DFB Cup.
There are some signs that WSV is at least doing well in the financial reorganization. And usually they bring around 500-800 fans to away matches, which is usually way more than the home sides are used to seeing.
