3.Liga, Round 19

The halfway mark in the Dritte Liga, and the official coronation of Heidenheim as Herbstmeister (“Fall Champion”). Of course that is a worthless title, and in fact couple more matches will be played prior to the winter-break. But Heidenheim has been dominant and already has a 14 point lead over 3rd, so barring a monumental collapse, they’re going up. FCH showed their control has they beat up Unterhaching on the road, a club that was thinking about challenging for that 3rd spot. Instead it’s Rostock that has seized it, somewhat of a surprise given Hansa’s horrible start, but the Rostockers have recovered nicely and are moving. Their away win at Wehen is a great result, fully deserved. Leipzig had a tough time but eventually got the points against a battling Stuttgarter Kickers. The RedBulls are trying to establish a gap between themselves and the fierce battle for 3rd

On the bottom, both Saarbrücken and Burghausen came up with wins, and Münster had a huge win against Duisburg to keep their heads above water. FCS win was the most impressive, as they got it on the road at Erfurt, who are battling for the promotion playoff.
