3.Liga, Round 10: Things tighten up

Things definitely tightened up a bit, as the favored teams generally were held in check.

Dresden missed a chance and must be kicking themselves. They dominated against Mainz-II, but wasted chances and then got kicked in the balls and surrendered a draw in injury time. A bitter result, as they had the points in the bag. But their fans deserved better: Dynamo should have put this one to bed long ago.

Unterhaching was on the verge of a needed victory, but Duisburg pulled out a point on a free kick by Janjic in the last minute.

Kickers Stuttgart and Osnabrück also battled to a hard fought draw, in a “colorful” match (7 yellow cards).

Finally a home win for Rostock, and somewhat of a surprise, as it was against Bielefeld, who have been stalking the leaders. But Hansa showed great will and organization, perhaps their best match of the season.

Fortuna Köln got an important road win against BVB-II, and have jumped out of the relegation zone.

An impressive effort by Preußen Münster, who overpowered newcomers Sonnenhof Großaspach. The home side led early, but after 25 minutes a deliberate handball not only awared the guests a penalty, but Preußen were down a man. No bother, as they controlled the match and deservedly garb the win, which leaves them in a promotion spot.

Cottbus were stunned at home by Halle, although perhaps “stun” is not correct, since HFC has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with when they visit. (Too bad for them they suck at home). So Energie was basically just beaten down and was unable to hold on to their lead.
