3.Liga, Round 22: Bielefeld opens small gap

Bielefeld not only defended their lead, but have opened up a small gap at the top that puts them in a good position. Arminia dominated against a toothless Chemnitz side, which has slid into obscurity.

The huge match in Cottbus between Energie and 2nd place Münster was hard fought and somewhat nasty – Preußen manager Ralf Loose was kicked out shortly before halftime. Energie won the tight battle and move closer to the top.

A critical “chasers” battle in Dresden against Osnabrück was won by the hosts. Both clubs wanted a win to creep closer to the top, and the guests from Osnabrück were doing quite well with an early lead. But after 35 minutes Willers got his ass tossed for a nasty foul, and eventually Dynamo took control and ended up with a big win.

Duisburg disappointed against Mainz-II, as the relegation threatened side defended well and got a deserved point. This allowed Stuttgarter Kickers to claim the important 3rd spot, with a workman-like win over Großaspach.

Regensburg can’t be saved. Jahn led by two at Unterhaching, and looked to finally break out of their funk. Instead the hosts came roaring back and scored three unanswered goals to get the win, leaving Regensburg already at least 9 points off the salvation line.

Things look grim in Rostock. Hansa was kicked in the ass by neighbors Kiel and are in horrible straits. Something drastic needs to change or Hansa will sink. The Holsteiners reamin an tough opponent, and have the best defense in the league.
