TSV Havelse

The club was founded in 1912 in the Gastwirtschaft "Wildhage" as FC Pelikan-Havelse. Apparently the public response to the 13 youngsters was underwhelming, and they were a bit unsure of the process. They scraped together 7.50 Reichsmarks and bought a ball, which was a "Pelikan" brand; hence the club name. The First World War took a heavy toll on the pelicans, and although they tried to get started after the war, they finally threw in the towel in 1923.

In 1929, the gymnastics club TSV Havelse was founded, and in 1933 they were joined by the remaining isolated pelicans. Not much happened in terms of success, although in 1956 they were kicked out of the old Amateurliga Niedersachsen-West for "violations against the amateur statute".

The late 1980s saw an upswing in club fortunes, and in 1990 a last minute goal led to a 3-2 win over Wuppertaler SV in the promotion playoffs, and TSV was in the 2.Liga. It wasn't much of a success, although they did average around 3,500 per game. After many years in the top level of the regional amatuer leagues, TSV dropped down in 2001, and remain mired at the lower levels.
