Overall, a poor performance and the first defeat for a Klinsmann squad. The Koreans were quicker and more energetic than the slow and lethargic German squad. Nevertheless, Germany might have escaped with a draw, except late in the match Michael Ballack missed a penalty kick, a soon thereafter South Korea got it's 3rd goal.
