3.Liga, Round 8

Surprise defeat as no-money, tiny Elversberg dumped favored Red Bull Leipzig was pretty dominant throughout the match, but SVE held on and then won the game in injury-time. Great result for them, RedBull obviously not too happy.

Leaders Heidenheim had only minor problems with struggling Stuttgarter Kickers, who have yet to win. Wehen joins them at the top with a solid win over Duisburg. MSV was the attacking team, but Wehen was solid in defense and killed the Zebras on the counter attack. Both Heidenheim and Wehen have now opened up a slight gap in the promotion race.

Erfurt showed their back on track as they dealt upstart Kiel a defeat in Holstein.

Burghausen looks totally out of their league at this time, with a hapless start and likely a bitter end. They got ripped by Stuttgart-II, and desperately need some results if they’re not to be relegated by the winterbreak.

Seberal matches are scheduled for Wednesday, so they’ll be updated then.
