3.Liga, Round 9

Halle faced leaders Heidenheim and showed that they’ve gotten back on track. But despite a fine performance, Heidenheim was just better and the Swabians take home all the points and sole possession of the top.

Kiel put up a good fight at Wehen and deservedly takes a point.

Erfurt dominated Elversberg, but the visitors were resisting valiantly until late. The win jumps RWE into the playoff spot.

RedBull dominated against Stuttgart II, and probbaly should have won by a bigger margin. The Leipzigers remain in the hunt for the promotion that their corporate bosses have planned for.

It was supposed to be a party for MSV’s 111th birthday, but Darmstadt was a poor guest and crapped all over the festivities as the Lilies stunningly ripped Duisburg’s ass.

Rostock fans might want to riot after this one. Hansa was in control and looked on the road to victory, but BVB’s II squad adjusted at halftime and got back in the match. The hosts were completely lost on what to do, and ended up taking it in the shorts.

Osnabrück stopped their slide with an easy rout of hapless Burghausen. VfL needed this to regroup and perhaps get back into their favorites role. Burghausen looks totally out of their league, last season’s decent performance an ancient memory. Of course it’s too early to say there’s no hope, but I’d be surprised if their is anybody that doesn’t beleive they’re going down.

Another squad that has totally stunk is Preußen Münster. This is a complete surprise, as they were challenging for a promotion spot last season, and fully expected to be a contender. Instead they suck and were dumped again, at home no less. Unterhaching is usually all over the place, but they showed steel in kicking their hosts in the balls and grabbing all the points.

Stuttgarter Kickers finally got their first win, and they tore Regensburg to shreds.

Saarbrücken had an edge against Chemnitz, but was unable to convert it to a much needed win. Instead FCS continues to struggle in the relegation zone.

Midweek is a makeup game were Haching hosts Halle…
