Greuther Fürth rolled Paderborn, but it wasn’t easy. In the first half the hosts were dominate, and pushed a clear lead. Paderborn stormed back in the 2nd half, but wasted chances. Then they self destructed as Vrancic got tossed for a dirty foul, and Bertels insulted the ref. game, set, match, as the Greuther took advantage to finish it off.
FSV Frankfurt got their asses kicked by Kaiserslautern, but have nobody to blame but themselves. After quickly falling behind, Schlicke had a chance to equalize from a penalty, but blew it. From there on, the Bornheimers had no clue what they were doing, and FCK didn’t really have to do much except sit back and wait for their hosts to self-destruct.
Köln looked crappy as they went down to struggling Bochum. The leaders looked the better team, but only in spurts. Bochum showed no respect and eventually pounced on an opportunity. The most interesting fact is that it was a decent crowd, probably equal to what might have shown up when both were playing in the Bundesliga.
Düsseldorf continues to reek, but at least they got the points against Sandhausen.
Disaster in an eastern derby in Dresden. Dynamo was a man up against Aue, dominating, had the lead, and getting several clear opportunities to finish off the match 2-0. Then in injury time defender Mravec gave a hospital pass to a stunned Klingbeil, and the unmarked Erzgebirger equalized. A sold out Glücksgas-Stadion (formerly Rudolf-Harbig) sat in stunned disbelief, Dynamo had thrown away two points in a direct relegation battle.
Total attendance 172,548 (avg 19,172), sellout in Dresden.
